North Carolina School for the Deaf - Opened 1894
The North Carolina School for the Deaf (NCSD), established in 1894 is a
day/residential facility for the education of children who are deaf and hard
of hearing. it is located on a beautiful and historic 160 acre campus in
Morganton, North Carolina. Their Mission Statement - All
deaf and Hard of Hearing Children have unlimited potential. Given that
belief, the North Carolina School for the Deaf provide a challenging
learning environment which prepares each child fro a meaningful and
productive life in a changing world.
The North Carolina School for the Deaf is located at the entrance to
NCSD on West Fleming Drive (known as the Morganton ByPass) in Morganton, N.
