I woke-up this morning with rain beating on my tent. I gathered and pack my stuff together inside my tent, waiting for the rain to slack-up or stop so I could take the tent down and finish packing and get the bags on the truck headed toward Albemarle.
Rain, rain, rain and hills, hills and hills is the only way I can describe today's ride. And of course, no pictures, too wet for camera. For whatever reason, it was probably the hardest day I have ever had on a CNC ride. It seemed it was rolling hills, long hills, about all the way.
Left Lowe's YMCA before 8:00 A.M. and headed toward Albemarle and Stanly County YMCA. We rode through China Grove and by Dennis Vineyards which we had a rest-stop, but we had been by the Vineyards on one of our previous rides. Arrived at Stanly County YMCA tired, but a good plate of pasta for the stomach made me feel a lot better.
Got to the campsite in Albemarle and set up camp and rested a while, hoping the rain would stop. Oh yes, I did get my blood pressure checked when arriving in Albemarle since they were checking at one of the tents. It was up to 136/76 and I generally do not have high blood pressure. The nurse said it was probably from riding all day since my blood pressure history is good.
