As planned, my wife and I drove up to Marion (was able to sleep in own bed) with the bike, ready for another day on the bike. Again as I started out it was pouring rain. But, after a pretty good steep hill coming out of the camp area, I was on my way. It rained most of the day.
The route took us by scenic Lake James where there are good views of Shortoff Mountain and Table Rock Mountain. As a matter of fact we had a rest-stop at Lake James. We also stopped in Morganton (my home town) for one of the rest-stops. Surprisingly, the bike route took us right by my house. We continued on into Valdese, Rutherford College, into Hickory and by Lenoir Rhyne Campus, and ended up at Highland Recreation Center. It was an enjoyable ride, especially as we got to Hickory. I don't mind the rain as long as the weather in not cold. After you get wet, you're wet, you can't get any wetter. Just a few words of wisdom.
Due to the rain, especially the first two days, there were no pictures taken, too wet for camera. It stayed wrapped in plastic.
