       Sunset over Lowe's Motor Speedway

"Racing to Lowe's Speedway"

Wake-up this morning feeling better about my back. Yesterday and last night I had some pain in my lower back. With a lot of rest and some strengthening exercises I'm ready to go. I have decided to ride a more sensible today and especially with a lower gear to conserve my back.

I rode today with some back pain as I tried not to push too hard. I don't remember any steep hills but we had a lot of larger rolling hills. Well as we all know for every downhill there is usually an uphill, especially when you cross a bridge at the very bottom of valley.

Rode into Lowe's Motor Speedway infield a short time past lunch. It's a big place, I had never been there before. I set-up the tent after letting it dry out since it was soaking wet because of the heavy dew last night. Then went to the showers and up the road to get something to eat. I eat a lot on these rides compared to my home meals.

The highlight of the day/evening was that Lowe's Motor Speedway opened the one mile track up to the bikes. I rode on the top portion of the track. I was surprised how much the track is banked in the turns and then it levels out in the
strait-a-ways. It was fun!
